
GANDERBAL, APRIL 20: A month-long Oral Health programme organised by District Hospital (DH) Ganderbal concluded today on a vibrant and positive note with a walkathon aimed at promoting awareness about oral hygiene.
Students participated enthusiastically in the walkathon, carrying banners and raising slogans such as “A Happy Mouth Is A Happy Life,” spreading a strong message on the importance of oral health.
Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Ganderbal, Dr. Fara Shafi, along with a team of dental surgeons, joined and led the walkathon, boosting the morale of participants.
The programme, which commenced on March 20, featured a series of activities including oral health awareness drives, screening camps, interactive sessions and community outreach initiatives. These efforts witnessed active participation from students, faculty members and the general public, reflecting a growing awareness about the link between oral health and overall well-being.
Later in the day, a valedictory function was held at District Hospital Ganderbal to mark the successful culmination of the programme.
Deputy Director Dentistry, Dr. Jehanzaib, graced the occasion and appreciated the dedicated efforts of dental surgeons from the hospital and DEIC, as well as the supporting staff.
It was informed that around 3,000 beneficiaries were screened during the programme, with oral health kits distributed and demonstrations conducted on their proper use. Emphasis was also laid on the connection between oral health and other medical conditions.
The event concluded with the felicitation of participants and distribution of certificates of appreciation.
