Chief Secretary visits Road Accident Victims at GMC Udhampur Assures Best Possible Medical Care to the victims

UDHAMPUR, APRIL 20: Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo, today visited the Government Medical College (GMC), Udhampur, to enquire about the condition of individuals injured in a tragic road accident that occurred at Kaghote, Ramnagar.

The Chief Secretary was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Minga Sherpa; Transport Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Prem Singh; along with other senior officials of the district administration..

During his visit, the Chief Secretary interacted with the injured and reviewed the medical care being provided. He directed the hospital administration and medical staff to ensure that all victims receive the highest standard of treatment and adequate support facilities without any delay.

Describing the incident as deeply unfortunate and distressing, the Chief Secretary expressed profound concern over the loss and suffering caused by the accident. He assured that the government is closely monitoring the situation and extending all possible assistance to the affected individuals and their families.

The Chief Secretary further informed that immediately upon receiving news of the accident, the district administration, in coordination with the Army and other concerned agencies, promptly launched a comprehensive rescue and evacuation operation to provide timely medical assistance to the victims.

Emphasizing the critical importance of road safety, he underscored the need for strict enforcement of traffic regulations to prevent such incidents in the future. He called for stringent action against overloading and stressed the necessity of ensuring the fitness and roadworthiness of vehicles to safeguard human lives.

He reiterated that the administration remains committed to supporting the victims and taking all necessary measures to enhance road safety and prevent recurrence of such tragic incidents in J&K.
