JKAACL mourns demise of eminent Gojri Writer Babu Noor Mohammad Noor

JAMMU, APRIL 04: The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) today convened a condolence meeting to mourn the sad demise of eminent Gojri writer and poet, Babu Noor Mohammad Noor, father of Chief Editor Gojri, Dr. Javaid Rahi, who passed away last night. He had been unwell for a long time.

Officers and employees of the Academy expressed deep grief and paid rich tributes to the departed soul, recalling his invaluable contribution to Gojri language and literature. Speakers observed that Babu Noor Mohammad Noor was among the pioneering literary figures who played a vital role in laying a strong foundation for the growth and promotion of Gojri language.

Secretary, JKAACL, Harvinder Kour expressed solidarity with Dr. Javaid Rahi and his family in this hour of grief. She also announced that the Academy will soon organise a seminar to commemorate the life and literary contributions of the late poet.

On the occasion, Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Punjabi, conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of the entire Academy. Dr. Shahnawaz, Editor Gojri, in his remarks, described the late writer as a distinguished literary personality whose works enriched Gojri literature and inspired generations.

Additional Secretary Lal Chand; SOCA Sanjeev Gupta; Reeta Khadayal; Bhupinder Singh, Choreographer; ACO Anil Tickoo  and other staff members of the Academy were also present.
