DC Poonch reviews implementation of HADP, JKCIP Projects

POONCH, FEBRUARY 11: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the implementation of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and the Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP) in the district.

The meeting was convened to strengthen inter-sectoral coordination and ensure the timely and effective execution of key government initiatives aimed at benefiting the farming community.

During the session, officers from various departments presented detailed updates on the physical and financial progress achieved under HADP, along with their future action plans. The discussions focused on strategies to enhance agricultural productivity and promote allied sectors including fisheries, floriculture, sericulture and animal husbandry, thereby strengthening the overall agricultural economy of the district.

The Deputy Commissioner also held detailed deliberations on the implementation status of major schemes such as Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Kisan Khidmat Ghar (KKG) and Daksh Kisan. He stressed the need to ensure maximum outreach and coverage of eligible beneficiaries under these schemes.

Highlighting the importance of a collaborative approach, the Deputy Commissioner underscored the significance of inter-departmental coordination, robust field-level monitoring and direct engagement with farmers to achieve the objectives of sustainable and inclusive agricultural development in Poonch district.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, District Sericulture Officer, Lead District Manager, Assistant Director Fisheries, Assistant Floriculture Officer, Area Grading and Marketing Officer and the District Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Poonch.
