DC Budgam oversees arrangements for upcoming Maha Shivratri Festival

BUDGAM, FEBRUARY 6: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam , Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, today conducted a meeting to review the arrangements being made for the ensuing festival of Maha Shivratri-celebrated annually.

 

The festival having great religious and cultural significance is scheduled to be celebrated on February 15 and is celebrated by the faith followers specially by the Kashmiri Pandit community with great zeal and enthusiasm.

 

While taking review, the DC directed concerned departments to ensure all basic arrangements are put in place for the devotees of the migrant colony Sheikh pora budgam.

 

The DC instructed for ensuring hassle-free traffic movement for the devotees to the adjoining city areas, besides adequate facilities at the designated place for parking of the vehicles. He also directed for ensuring uninterrupted supply of electricity, besides illumination of the temple inside premises.

 

He directed executive engineer Jal Shakti Budgam to ensure adequate drinking water facility is available at the venue so that devotees may not face any inconvenience.

 

The DC also directed the Health Department to deploy a Medical team at the venue with the availability of all emergency medicines and first aid facilities. He asked for the stationing of an ambulance with an oxygen support system to handle any medical emergency.

 

He directed department of floriculture to ensure availability of sufficient quantities of flowers at the colony. AD FCS&CA was directed to ensure availability of sufficient food grains there and AD fisheries was instructed to install stalls of fish, walnut , almonds, lotus stem, saffron, honey, etc inside the Premises of the sheikh pora colony.

 

He also stressed on maintaining proper sanitation at the Temple premises and at the entire colony before, during and after the ensuing holy festival and directed MC Budgam for the same. The BDOs were directed to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the temples falling in rural areas.

 

While concerned police authorities were asked to take all measures to ensure adequate security arrangements in and around the Colony.

 

The DC directed the officers of all line departments to ensure all necessary arrangements required for smooth celebration of this pious occasion of the Maha-Shivratri are put in place on time.

 

Besides CPO Budgam , CMO, Assistant commissioner Food safety, AD food, AD fisheries , Executive Engineers of KPDCL, PHE, representatives of all other concerned departments were present in the meeting.
