
DODA, FEBRUARY 05: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Harvinder Singh, today inaugurated the Haj Pilgrims Vaccination Camp–2026 at OPD Block of Government Medical College (GMC) Doda.
After the inauguration, the Deputy Commissioner Doda interacted with the Haj pilgrims, enquired about their preparedness for the pilgrimage and assessed the medical and other facilities being provided.
He emphasized the importance of timely vaccination and adherence to health protocols to safeguard pilgrims during the sacred journey.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Anil Kumar Thakur, also interacted with the pilgrims and extended his best wishes for a safe and comfortable pilgrimage.
The Deputy Commissioner Doda reviewed the arrangements put in place by the Health Department. He directed the concerned officials to ensure that the requisite medical and logistical support is extended to the pilgrims in a timely and hassle-free manner.
A total of 90 Haj pilgrims were vaccinated at various designated centres across the district. These included 39 pilgrims at OPD block in GMC, 20 at CHC Bhaderwah and 31 at CHC Gandoh.
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) informed that vaccines including OPV (Oral Polio Vaccine), QMMV (Quadrivalent Meningococcal Meningitis Vaccine) and SIV (Seasonal Influenza Vaccine) were administered to the pilgrims to safeguard them against communicable diseases during the pilgrimage.
