BANDIPORA, FEBRUARY 05: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, on Thursday reviewed the ongoing snow clearance operations on the Bandipora–Gurez Road during a visit to the higher reaches, including Razdan Pass and Tragbal.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner expressed satisfaction over the pace of snow clearance works and appreciated the dedication of the BEACON field staff for their tireless efforts under harsh and inclement weather conditions to restore road connectivity to the Gurez Valley.
The DC informed that the Bandipora–Gurez Road presently remains closed for vehicular traffic and will be opened only after a comprehensive assessment of road safety and prevailing weather conditions. She also appealed to commuters and tourists to strictly adhere to the daily advisories issued by the district administration in view of weather-related challenges.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by officers from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), Project BEACON, and other concerned departments during the visit.
