
KATHUA, FEBRUARY 05: Additional District Development Commissioner Kathua, Surinder Mohan Sharma today reviewed the progress under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) at a review meeting held here at DC office complex.
The ADDC assessed component-wise and department-wise performance under HADP with focus on beneficiary coverage, physical achievements and utilisation of the Kisan Sathi Portal. It was informed that Kathua district has secured third rank at the UT level under the Daksh Kisan initiative, registering notable progress in farmers’ registration, skilling, course enrolment and completion.
The meeting acknowledged encouraging performance in major HADP components including seed and seed multiplication chain, promotion of niche crops, vegetables and exotic vegetables, agricultural marketing, apiculture, sericulture, millets and nutri cereals, farm mechanization and automation and round-the-year mushroom production.
Progress under allied sectors such as dairy, poultry, fisheries, sheep and animal husbandry, floriculture, oilseeds, integrated farming systems, rainfed area development, alternate agriculture systems, soil and land resource management and fodder development was also reviewed.
The ADDC directed the stakeholder departments to ensure saturation of HADP components by covering all eligible farmers and areas. He emphasised intensified field mobilisation, improved coordination, timely processing of cases and outcome-based monitoring to maximise the programme’s impact on farm incomes.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Ranjeet Thakur; Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sericulture Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, District Horticulture, Agriculture and Marketing Officer, Representative from Banks and other concerned officers.
