The first batch of 630 Haj pilgrims from Srinagar leaves for Saudi Arabia

Srinagar: The most sacred journey of Muslims has started from Wednesday. The first batch of Haj pilgrims from Srinagar Airport today left for Saudi Arabia. The first batch included 630 passengers.

Before leaving for Haj pilgrimage, a passenger told that this journey is very important for every Muslim. For this, he has prepared for many years. Today they have got this opportunity who are starting their journey.
Special arrangements and preparations were made at the airport for the smooth movement of Haj pilgrims. All pilgrims have to report to the Haj House of Bemina to complete the check-in formalities. Boarding cards were issued in Haj House and special counters were opened for this.
This year around 12,000 people in Jammu and Kashmir are eagerly preparing for the much awaited Haj pilgrimage of 2023. This year’s Haj operating from the airport will depart two flights from Srinagar International Airport daily. The number of daily flights at the end of this month may increase to three. The return journey for pilgrims may begin on 17 July.

Jammu and Kashmir Haj Committee Executive Officer Abdul Salam Mir said that the first flight of Haj-2023 pilgrims left on Wednesday, while the last flight would leave on 22 June. He said that adequate arrangements have been made for the smooth operation of the pilgrimage in Mecca.
