STRENGTHENING MEN IN KHAKI

Although police in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory is already full of energy and enthusiasm, and is fulfilling its responsibilities with dexterous capabilities but looking into the modern day world challenges including the scourge of terrorism, it has become necessary that this security force should remain fortified and upto the mark to counter all things which are acting contrary and posing a challenge to law and order. In this context, the measure taken by one of the most disciplined police forces in the country, the JKP is necessary and needful because it has for the first time inducted three state-of-the-art weapon systems, including Made-in-India Zen ShootEdge cornershot pistol, to strengthen its arsenal as it counters various security and counter-terror challenges. The new weaponry included in the arsenal of the JKP has various features which will help the men in Khaki to ensure law and order in J&K with added zeal and more confidence. There is no doubt that the challenges which the police is facing in J&K were of extreme nature because starting from petty crimes, the region is confronting with the ghastly terrorist activities of the international level as Pakistan being the rogue nation has waged a proxy war to destabilize India by abetting turmoil and tumult in the Valley. With such colossal challenges posing a challenge of life to the men in Khaki, the steps taken to fortify the police force are necessary and advisable and therefore the aforesaid induction of arms in the police arsenal is a praiseworthy initiative of the government. The newly inducted weapon systems include Tavor X-95 and MP-5 rifles and the Zen ShootEdge pistol. Having a high-resolution low-light infrared camera, the cornershot pistol facilitates shooting around corners and over the top of walls without exposing the user. Modernizing JKP’s arsenal to meet and combat greater security and counter-terrorism challenges is the need of time as the same would help in increasing the efficiency and accuracy in a big way. Of course, the cornershot weapons will protect members of anti-terror operation parties from coming in line of direct fire from terrorists in close-combat situations, which mostly take place in congested and populated areas. Beyond any doubt, the endeavour of the government in fortifying the police force will go a long way in carrying out successful operations against those raising voice against the country and indulging in acts which are detrimental to the safety and security of the people of the country.
