PHILANTHROPIC ADMN

The government of Jammu and Kashmir has time and again proved that it is deeply concerned towards the welfare of the people and that is the reason every now and then, it takes steps to provide succor to the people facing problems due to one reason or the other. In this context, Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha has proved that he is man of his words as he has ordered the release of the salary of those PM Package and other minority employees, who have resumed their duties in Kashmir division. The direction ahead of Maha Shivratri – the main festival of Kashmiri Pandit community, has come as a major relief for all the employees, particularly PM Package employees. The concerned Heads of the Departments have been directed to release the salary of those PM Package and other minority employees, who have resumed their duties in Kashmir division, for the intervening period, without any gap, as a special measure by adjusting this period, in view of forthcoming Maha Shivratri festival. This is really a philanthropic measure to provide a sigh of relief to the aforesaid sections of employees who had been facing trouble after they left Valley in the wake of targeted killing spree, whereby several people were targeted under a conspiracy to again spread unrest in the Valley as people who lost their lives belonged to almost all the sections of society including the KP employees and the migratory labourers hailing from different states of the country. Aftermath of the killings of innocent people the KP employees appointed under PM’s package decided to leave the Valley and were demanding their shifting from the trouble-torn Valley. The LG’s administration has not only given the bounty to KP employees but the reserved category employees, who were also protesting under the same pretext were also consolidated in this sop besides providing safe shelters to all the employees working in Valley. It is however intriguing that while many employees (both PM package and reserved category) have resumed their duties in Kashmir after assurance of foolproof security by the administration though there are several others who are still protesting in Jammu. These employees should also take the judicious decision and resume their duties because their appointments have been made under a vow to serve in the Valley and nowhere else.
