Border Roads Organization personnel again proved that they are dedicated towards the national cause and can go to any extent to prove their mettle and commitment towards civilian population as they recently rescued a family of three and a driver of Ladakh Police trapped in snow at SingeLa in Ladakh. In ten hours long operation, the brave-hearts of GREF 114RCC Project Yojak rescued driver of Ladakh Police and a family of three trapped at SingeLa while on way to Niraq proving that BRO is a force to reckon with as it outperforms many others in the country when the matter is of saving the lives of common masses. Beyond any doubt the Border Roads Organization (BRO) is rendering yeoman’s service by providing multifaceted services starting from connecting places by constructing roads in difficult terrains of the border areas across the country to giving a helping hand to people stuck in difficult conditions due to vagaries of weather and other calamities. The role which this organization plays in J&K is significant as many strategic roads are being maintained to give a thorough way to common man and the security forces responsible for the security and safety of the country. Though many states enjoy benefits offered by the BRO, J & K and Ladakh UTs are the ones which take maximum benefit out of this central government organization being proactive in border areas. The BRO has its reach in the remotest border areas and besides addressing strategic needs, it has been instrumental in socio-economic upliftment of the Northern and Eastern borders. BRO deserves kudos for the initiatives which it takes and it is necessary that the government should further fund this organization to work more actively in the difficult zones because it has a phenomenal track record of accomplishing the most difficult in record time and continuing the same year after year. Going by the benevolent steps taken by the BRO in clearing snowbound roads, rescuing people in distress and making headway in constructing new roads, one can say that this organization deserves kudos and should be lauded at every step like the way the security forces are praised and applauded for their role in containing lawlessness and giving a befitting response to outlaws.
