DEVELOPMENT AS NEVER BEFORE

DEVELOPMENT AS NEVER BEFORE

There is no doubt in the fact that union territory of J&K has embarked on a new voyage of development after August 5, 2019, and since then, it has not looked back and is moving persistently changing the development profile in an unbelievable manner. For this, all credit goes to the incumbent dispensation running under the dynamic leadership of LG Manoj Sinha as it is the unmatched one because no other government in the past has done so much for the people of the region. Besides providing a conducive atmosphere to live a peaceful and plenteous life, the government is also making sure that pollution is eliminated, things become affordable and comfort becomes part and parcel of every resident’s life. In this context, Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department (H&UDD), has chaired a review meeting on electric buses project for twin capital cities of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and directed the officials to expedite the process for its completion in stipulated time frame. For sure, implementation of the aforesaid project which is likely to be launched in April will make the environment of the UT of J&K serene and most lovable in the country by the exit of polluting fleet of vehicles. The LG’s administration is soon introducing electric buses for cleaner, better inter-city and intra-city transport facilities in the Union Territory. There is no doubt in the fact that electrical vehicles are the future of transport as they are eco-friendly, ideal for the urban environment and contribute to reducing pollution levels. It is good that LG’s administration in J&K wants to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and promote greener and sustainable mobility solutions. The steps envisaged by LG Sinha in J&K with regard to development are testimony to the fact that the government is committed to explore all the possibilities to transform Jammu and Srinagar into modern, sustainable, and economically vibrant cities, and make Jammu and Srinagar, the best smart cities of the country. Reportedly, the J&K government has ordered 200 e-buses to facilitate safer, greener and reliable transportation for the public. TATA Motors, which has signed the MoU with J&K Government, has been asked to complete the construction of depots and ensure the delivery of electric buses within stipulated time as UT administration wanted to finalize routes before February 15 and start the bus service before the end of April.
