THRIVING START-UPS
There is no doubt in the statement given by Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh that the start-up ecosystem has gained momentum under the realms of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As far as J&K is concerned, the people conventionally are inclined towards government jobs and under the changed scenario when the jobs in the government sector have become scanty, it becomes imperative to try hands on the new avenues especially the start-ups which are being promoted by the government at a large scale as the figures across the country have been testifying because from 350 odd start-ups in 2014, the number swelled to 75,000 in August, 2022. The same at present stands at over 88,000 Start-Ups spread across 653 districts and generated more than 9 lakh job opportunities across the length and breadth of the country. People opting for the start-ups have become job creators instead of job seekers, which is a great achievement of the Modi Government. J&K, due to its peculiar situation since independence, remained at the back foot and the start-up culture was nowhere in the scene before the year 2014. As Dr Jitendra has said that the inception of Modi Government has instilled confidence among the people and many among them have taken out of box decisions to go for the start ups in J&K, aspiring to have good fortunes and maximum among those have succeeded in their endeavours and are today proving to be employment generation entities thus changing the course of the Union Territory on the expected lines. There is no doubt that the government job mind-set has proved to be an impediment to StartUp culture in the region as till date there are people who prefer to go for government sector jobs rather than opening a startup avenue. There is plenty of scope for the start ups in J&K and people especially the youths should explore and exploit the opportunities to have a fruitful future making start ups their base of livelihood. Many startups have emerged in the country in the last few years and the same have changed the lives of thousands of people making it vital to avail benefits of government schemes in making the future bright and full of prolific prospects.
