Kashmir 28th Jan 2023: Bharat Jodo Yatra has reached Pulwama district. Others, including Rahul Gandhi, paid tribute to the martyrs at Lethpora, the site of the Pulwama attack. Forty CRPF personnel were martyred in the 2019 terrorist attack at Lethpora in Pulwama.
Bharat Jodo Yatra is going on for the second day amidst tight security after a security breach. Priyanka Gandhi joined the padyatra from Pulwama district in the afternoon to support Rahul Gandhi.
Prior to this, former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti along with her daughter Iltija Mufti participated in Rahul Gandhi’s padayatra. Apart from this, a large number of local people also joined the yatra. After a security dispute a day earlier i.e. on Friday, the yatra is going on amid tight security on the second day.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi joined the padyatra from Pulwama district in the afternoon. On Sunday, the yatra will start from Pantha Chowk and continue till Nehru Park on Boulevard Road. The yatra is currently in Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
On the other hand, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding proper security for the passengers involved in the Bharat Jodo Yatra. In the letter, he has placed several demands on behalf of the Congress party.
