After the commencement of rail service from Katra to Banihal, Kashmir will be connected with the rail service of the whole country and not only people will be able to visit Kashmir for tourism and sightseeing, but it will also lead to economic development on a large scale in the whole of Jammu and Kashmir. . In this direction, the Ministry of Railways has released many vacancies recently for the operation of the Katra Banihal Rail Project, as well as all the necessary electrical, mechanical and safety related purchases are being made by the Ministry for the track construction of trains. Apart from this, 4 rakes of Jammu Rajdhani will be replaced with new coaches. Rakes of Bande Bharat are also being procured and manufactured. Along with this, 452 posts have been generated in all three categories including 310 posts in SSE/Je, helper, techinicians, trackman etc. under track category, 63 posts in bridge category, and 79 posts in workers category.
It is expected that the Katra-Banihal Rail Project will be dedicated to the nation before the year 2024.
