Security forces have arrested two terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba, who were planning a terrorist attack in Bandipora district of Kashmir, along with heavy arms and ammunition. Both these terrorists were hiding in Gundbal Nursery Hajin Bandipora. Confirming the arrest of both the terrorists, the police officer said that due to their arrest, a major incident was stopped before it could happen. Both the terrorists are being interrogated.
According to the information received from Hajin Police Station, they received information that two terrorists have been seen in Gundbal Nursery Hajin, who are planning to attack. He also has a lot of weapons. As soon as the information was received, the police along with a joint team of Army’s 13RR and CRPF’s 45 battalions reached the area and started searching for the terrorists. In this search operation conducted on the basis of information, the security forces tried their best to capture both of them alive.
Before both the terrorists came to know about this search operation, both were nabbed by the security forces. The apprehended terrorists have been identified as Musaib Ahmad Mir s/o Abdul Rashid Mir r/o Paribal Hajin and Arfat Farooq Wage s/o Farooq Ahmad Wage r/o Hajin. He told that both of them are active members of terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. The organization had entrusted him with the responsibility of carrying out attacks anywhere in Bandipora.
On being searched by the security forces, one AK-47, one AK-56 rifle, two magazines of AK-47, two magazines of AK-56, 49 live cartridges, three kilograms of RDX, one remote control, five high-voltage mercury batteries, one IED were recovered from their possession. Fuse, detonator filled in six green plastic bottles and other objectionable material have been recovered.
Police said that a case has been registered against both the terrorists at Hajin police station. At present both are being interrogated. It is being learned that the organization had entrusted them with the responsibility of carrying out targeted attacks or targeting security forces. Apart from this, efforts are also being made to find out about other terrorists associated with the organization in Bandipora.
