BELIEVE IT OR NOT

People may get surprised that the cities of Jammu and Srinagar, which used to struggle to get even the very basic public infrastructure historically, are now aspiring for a whole new lot of ultra-modern edifice which is comparable to world’s top developed cities and is not behind anyone across the globe. In this regard, the latest development in J&K is two hundred electric buses that will soon ply in Jammu and Srinagar cities as part of the government’s initiative to establish an environmentally, socially, and financially sustainable network of public transport. In this regard, an MoU has been signed with TATA Motors Ltd. and Chalo Mobility Pvt. Ltd for the deployment of 200 electric buses bringing the much awaited respite for the commuters of these two cities who have to struggle hard to reach their destinations in time and with comfort. No doubt that the inception of this technology in J&K will transform the transport system in both cities of Jammu and Srinagar with people enjoying the best travelling experience. This decision of the government to provide environment friendly buses for giving a unique experience to the commuters shows that the government is committed to provide every modern facility in the cities of the UT of J&K. At times the facilities being offered to people of J&K especially after the abrogation of Article 370 seems to be unbelievable because unlike the successive governments which were always ready with their alibis to justify underdevelopment of J&K, the incumbent government has opened the floodgates of the funds and doing extremely well in improving the life and standard of the people and never says no to any of the demand of the people. It seems that what the cities of Jammu and Srinagar have received under smart city project is just the tip of the iceberg as the coming time will witness colossal changes with the government continuing its efforts to provide world class comforts to people in both these smart cities. Hard to believe but the upcoming bus fleet in J&K apart from reducing pollution levels, will also be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities like panic button, location system, CCTV, stop request system, and other security related features besides smart ticketing system also.
