Two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists killed in Baramulla encounter, search operation continues in Baramulla-Shopian

 

Security forces have killed both the terrorists in an ongoing encounter at Yedipora Pattan in Baramulla district of North Kashmir. Both the terrorists killed are said to be of Jaish-e-Mohammed. Confirming this, ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that the identity of both the slain terrorists is being ascertained. Before being killed, both the terrorists were given a chance to surrender but when they refused to lay down their arms, they were gunned down. He told that after the killing of the terrorists in Baramulla, the search operation is going on.

A police official said that the security forces had launched a night search operation in Baramulla after receiving information about the sighting of terrorists. The presence of two to three terrorists was being feared here. It is being told that after the killing of two terrorists in the encounter, the search operation is going on here.

Shopian: The encounter that started between security forces and terrorists in Chitragam area of ​​Shopian around 2 pm is now over. The terrorists hiding in the residential area here managed to escape by taking advantage of the darkness. However, the security forces still cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

Police said that on the basis of an information early today, two different teams of SOG, Army and CRPF conducted a search for the terrorists in Chitragam in District Shopian and Yedipora Pattan in Baramulla. carried out the operation. As soon as the security personnel reached near the bases, the terrorists hiding there started firing on them. Police sources said that the encounter started around 2 pm in Shopian. Intermittent firing continued from both the sides throughout the night but by the time the sun rose, the firing from the terrorists stopped. When the security forces launched a search operation, it was found that the terrorists had escaped from the encounter site taking advantage of the darkness.
