SECURITY FORCES’ TOUGH TIME

SECURITY FORCES’ TOUGH TIME

Here comes the season of maize crop in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, and the security forces have to face a tough time to counter terror mongers as the crop ready for harvesting gives easy way to them as it becomes difficult to spot anyone hiding behind the standing crop. This season always remained a great challenge for the security forces though with the decline in terrorism in these two districts decades ago there was much relief to those targeting the ultras in cities, towns, villages and of course in fields. The issue has once again came to limelight because after getting a considerable setback in Valley due to mounting pressure maintained by the security forces, it has been seen that many terrorists in a bid to save their lives have left Valley and entered the aforesaid districts for the time being as also the reports have averred about the presence of terrorists in these districts after they entered from across the LoC. Under such conditions, the raised body of Maize crop is a big disadvantage for the security forces and a boon for the terror mongers present in the vicinity. Albeit, the security forces are trained enough and rely on several other factors to nail down those indulging in violence and spreading terror but such hindrances do cause difficulties which somehow the men in ambush suits counter efficiently to eliminate the ultras as soon as possible. It is pertinent to mention that the Maize is the staple food of many segments of people living in this region and is sown in May and harvested in October. Like maize in Rajouri and Poonch, during the time of terrorism in Punjab, the sugarcane crop used to hinder vision of the security forces. As the troops overcome the Punjab terrorism despite Maize and sugarcane crop so do the jawans will accomplish here in J&K come what may. Though terror incidents in these districts have increased in the recent past but as the security forces have maintained pressure in Kashmir, soon the things will also be controlled in Rajouri and Poonch as the morale of every single soldier is upbeat as the centre has given them free hand to tackle terrorism and restore peace.
