Sajjad Lone abstained from the PAGD all-party meeting today

People’s Conference chairman Sajjad Gani Lone has announced to withdraw from the all-party meeting to be held at the residence of Dr. Farooq Abdullah today.

National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah has called an all-party meeting at his home today to protest against the right to vote for the permanent and temporary residents of other states in Jammu and Kashmir. People’s Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti, CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami, Congress state chief Vikar Rasool and Awami National Conference’s Muzaffar Shah are participating in it.

People’s Conference chairman Sajjad Gani Lone said that whether or not our participation in the all-party meeting will not change the law brought by the government regarding voters. In future, if ever Dr. Farooq Abdullah needs us, we will be present only on his one voice. But Mehbooba Mufti is desperate to re-strengthen her political base that she talks of convening an all-party meeting. The era of Maharaja Hari Singh is over. People here are not stupid anymore. If we are really serious and concerned about this issue then what is the need to call the media. By doing everything in front of the media, by making it public, it loses its relevance and it becomes just a race to prove oneself right. I don’t want to be a part of this race. If something concrete will emerge from the meeting of these people, Only then will I support them. If they feel that something wrong will come out for the people of Jammu and Kashmir on 1st October, then they should support us.
