INDOMITABLE INDIA
The message given by the Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi about India becoming a strong nation after the change of guard in 2014 has much sum and substance because during the ten years’ rule of UPA dispensation, India’s projection was of a meek nation as was also proved during and after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack and many other incidents related to subversive activities during that period. Although the Tamil Nadu Governor has pin pointed the reason showing the weakness of the country at that time, the situation today is far better as terrorism has become the thing of the past and the country is on the path of development as never before. Governor Ravi’s assertion that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s move to ink an agreement with Pakistan on terrorism within months of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks in 2008 was the sign of country’s helplessness at that time is true to the hilt and this was the reason that Pakistan took India for granted for many years and abetted violence in the Indian territory without any check or control. Surely, what the head of Tamil Nadu has said about the Modi Government’s extraordinary grit to end the hegemony of Pakistan in the region as far as exporting terror is concerned. It is the fact that PM Narendra Modi’s vision and mission which led to abrogation of Article 370 and a befitting responses to Pakistan after Pulwama terrorist attack and Uri attack in the shape of Balakot and surgical strikes has shown Pakistan its true face and that this reason that today guns are silent on borders along Pakistan and the rogue nation is behaving in line with the truce pact of 2003 between India and Pakistan. Had there been the UPA government, the situation would have been the same with losing lives and property along borders. Similar is the case of Maoist violence in the country. PM Modi has restricted the terror to a large extent with Kashmir and Maoist affected areas counting days to have terror-free atmosphere as the terrorism is on last leg in Valley and the situation in Maoist areas is also the same. Of course the BJP Government deserves kudos and people’s full support for accomplishing this herculean task with great ease. It is now a matter of time that violence will be eliminated from the country and absolute peace will prevail.
