JKP RENDERING YEOMAN’S SERVICE
There is no doubt that the Jammu and Kashmir Police has become a multi-faceted force which is capable of dealing all kinds of challenges as by facing them head on in last three to four decades had provided seamless opportunities to this law implementing force to upgrade and become strong, and the process is still on with department equipping itself with all the latest gadgets, training modules and by recruiting the best stuff available in society. In this context, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has rightly asserted that Jammu and Kashmir Police despite facing multiple challenges on the security front is rendering yeoman’s services to deal with all tasks and challenges for ensuring safety and security of the people. As always, the J&K Police is in the process of upgrading its technology and equipment to strengthen its field formations at the ground level in the Union Territory to become one of the best organizations dealing with law and order situations. The JKP has been fulfilling so many responsibilities at a time with ultimate sense of duty and discipline and the main of them include border security, VIP, vital installation security and urban security. One can have an idea that from providing failsafe security to Amarnath Yatra to combating drones’ threat which are lately indulging in smuggling of arms and ammunition, and narcotics from Pakistan besides recce of the borders at IB and the entire LoC, is all done by the valiant officers and cops of JKP. The way the security has been tightened in the UT of J&K looking into the threat perception with regard to Amarnath Yatra, one can gauge well how the UT police has achieved such a recognition of being one of the best police forces in the country. Drug menace is one of the crucial challenges which is being curbed by the JKP in a big way. The police is doing a wonderful job by not only fighting the drug suppliers but is also holding awareness drives by involving all the stakeholders including the drug addicts to create an atmosphere in the society against this scourge. This is a noble job which the police is accomplishing with great enthusiasm and extreme professionalism, and for this the men in Khaki deserve kudos and good wishes from all the residents of the UT of J&K.
