ACT AGAINST BLACK SHEEP

ACT AGAINST BLACK SHEEP

There is no doubt that the some of the officials of high security Kot Bhalwal jail are acting as black sheep because it is not possible that after every few months high-end electronic gadgetry is recovered from inside the jail raising a big question mark on the big claims made by the government of securing this high profile jail in which many hardcore prisoners have been kept. It is really unfortunate that on one side the government is doing so much so to keep an eye on terrorists and other outlaws to put a check rising incidents of violence in the Union Territory but on the other side the delinquents are giving a free hand to prisoners by having hand in glove to allow the aforesaid Jail to become a hub of terror activities with most modern equipment given permission to reach barracks of hardcore inmates to give instructions to their criminal assistants to carry out illegal activities including terror strikes. The even bigger question is that if the cell phones can be allowed inside the jail then why not arms and ammunition? This is something which should give sleepless nights to security agencies thus paving way for strict penal action against the culprits allowing electronic gadgetry meant for communication inside the high security Kot Bhawal Jail. In this regar, the authorities have seized mobile phones and an internet dongle from the high-security Kot Bhalwal Central Jail. The seizures were made during a routine checking of the prison by the jail officials. To the surprise of one and all, four mobiles and an internet dongle were hidden in a polythene bag near a washroom of a barrack. This shows a big failure which can form the basis of a major catastrophe in the coming time. As similar recoveries have been made in the past also, there is a dire need to upgrade the SOPs to stop such happenings in future. In the present case, reportedly the authorities are investigating the matter and are checking the CCTV footage while the recovered mobile phones have been handed over to the Cyber Crime Department for further investigation. Hopefully the case will be taken to its logical conclusion but till then people in J&K will remain worried as already unprecedented terror attempts have been reported like the recovery of explosive from a passenger vehicle.
