SITUATION GRIM
The gravity of situation in Kashmir is quite precarious since the spate of civilian killings is not coming under control as the terrorists are targeting people at their free will with no mechanism devised by the government to provide security to common man is working at the moment. In this context, another gruesome attack has been reported from Kulgam District where a migrant Kashmiri Pandit high school teacher was shot dead by the terrorists. The victim hailed from Jammu Division’s Samba District. Reportedly Rajni Bala (36) sustained injuries when terrorists fired at her in Gopalpora area of Kulgam, where she was posted as a teacher. Although the police has claimed that terrorists involved in this gruesome terror crime will be soon identified and neutralized but the ghastly act has raised a big question that for how long such killings will continue in the Valley as police and security forces are finding it hard to contain such terror acts which the Valley is witnessing over last six months. The government though repeatedly assured that security grid will be tightened to stop such killings but the reality on ground is different as terrorists are ruling the roost and have remained successful to a large extent in spreading fear psychosis as no one is feeling safe in the Valley as people of all shades and colours have been targeted after surge in terrorists attacks on civilians. It is pertinent to mention that this is the second killing of a Kashmiri Pandit in the month of May. Earlier, this month, two civilians including Kashmiri Pandit employee Rahul Bhat and three off-duty policemen were targeted by the ultras in the Valley. This seems to be the ploy to continue turmoil in the Valley and also keep the government under pressure as the BJP Government has put immense pressure on terror outfits after giving free hand to security forces to handle terrorism. This has lead to many successful anti-terror operations which mounted pressure on terrorists to run for life. It was after this that the new ‘trend’ of soft killings came into existence. One thing seems to be sure that Modi Government will not allow terrorism to flourish again and to wipe out completely the terror edifice from Kashmir, every possible step will be taken in the coming time.
