Gyanvapi Masjid Case: Hearing in the court of District Judge of Varanasi Court is over, proceedings will continue tomorrow


The hearing of the suit filed for the permission of daily worship of Maa Shringar Gauri located at Gyanvapi complex and to preserve the Deities of other gods and goddesses started on Monday in the court of District Judge Dr. Ajay Krishna Vishvas at 2 pm. After hearing the arguments of both the sides, it will first be decided whether the matter is maintainable or not. Along with this, the petition of the temple side, District Government Advocate (Civil) and the objection of Anjuman Inazaniya Masajid were heard. During the hearing of the case, there was a tight security arrangement in the entire court premises.

At the same time, the entry of anyone other than the plaintiff-defendant’s parties and their lawyers in the court room was banned at two o’clock in the afternoon. Harishankar Pandey Advocate filed an application in the court against eight including SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, MP Asudin Oveshi, secretary of Anjuman Inazaniya Masajid. Harishankar Pandey has appealed to the court to take action against everyone, alleging religious hatred, mental and religious harassment in the society. At the same time, which application will be heard first in the applications presented by the plaintiff-respondent side, it is to be decided by the District Judge. Now the hearing in the Gyanvapi case has been postponed till Tuesday as the hearing continues. On Tuesday, it will now be decided which application is to be heard first.

On the other hand, in the same case, the head of the Mahant family of Shrikashi Vishwanath temple, Dr. VC Tiwari has also filed a petition in the court for the worship of Shivling found in the Gyanvapi complex. In this case, he had earlier claimed the Gyanvapi Masjid area to be the property of the Mahant family. In this case, he is also preparing to become a plaintiff to worship the Shivling found in the mosque. In this regard, there was a ruckus in the court premises since morning. With the opening of the court at ten o’clock, all the parties started brainstorming about the proceedings of the court.

In this case, all the files related to the case have been transferred to the district judge’s court two days ago. The Supreme Court has directed the District Judge to complete the proceedings in this matter within eight weeks. In this context, Monday will be the first day of hearing. Both the plaintiff and the defendant will be present during the hearing. In this regard, both the sides kept preparing for the court proceedings on Sunday as well. In view of the ruckus in the premises regarding the hearing to be held in the court, in addition to tightening the security in the premises in the morning, officers have also been deployed.

The Supreme Court, while hearing the said case on May 20, in view of the complexity and sensitivity of the case, transferred its hearing from the court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) to the District Judge.
