Tunnel collapsed due to landslide in Ramban

A major part of the T-3 tunnel under construction in Makkarkot area near Khooni Nala suddenly collapsed on the Jammu-Srinagar highway in Ramban district of Jammu division on Thursday night. 10 workers working inside the tunnel got trapped due to the accident. Four to five vehicles including a dumper vehicle and several machines are also feared to be buried under the debris. Police said that three laborers were rescued during the rescue work that continued throughout the night. The condition of all three remains critical. He has been admitted to Ramban Hospital. The rescue work is still on. Five to seven laborers are still feared trapped in the tunnel.
The hope of survival of the missing laborers in the submergence of tunnel number-3 in Khooni Nala area of Ramban district is negligible. Work on the Edit Tunnel had just begun, so the people working inside must have been buried under hundreds of tons of rubble. What is the situation, it will be clear only after the debris is removed.

According to the information received, work was being done on Thursday night to make edit tunnel of tunnel number-3 under construction in Khooni Nala. During this time, the mountain in which the Edit Tunnel was being cut down, due to the landslide, it got submerged. As soon as the information about this incident was received, the teams of administration, police, disaster management team and health department reached the spot and started relief and rescue work.
Three people who were injured in this accident were evacuated and sent to Ramban District Hospital. From where after first aid, all three were sent to Government Medical College. According to the information, the three rescued people were standing outside the mouth of the tunnel. While 10 people are said to be working inside the tunnel. They are all missing after the debris fell.

The chances of missing people surviving in this accident are very less. Because the Sarla company, which is building the tunnel, started the construction of the edit tunnel a few days back. Only three to four meters of the edict could be built. Due to which the people working in the tunnel are unlikely to have a capacity or empty space to protect themselves.
If more tunnels had been built, this would have been a possibility. In such a situation, during the construction of the tunnel, hundreds of tons of debris fell on the people and machines working in the submerged tunnel due to the landslide coming down from the mountain itself. In such a situation, there is no hope of survival of the people buried under the rubble. But everyone is waiting for a miracle from God.

Debris removal work is underway to rescue people trapped under the rubble. The mountain where the accident took place is unstable, so the work of clearing the debris is being carried out with less machines. In this regard, DC Ramban Masarat Islam told that three people have been rescued in the accident. The main tunnel is completely safe, the submerged tunnel was the edit tunnel. Which was to be used during the excavation to remove the material and carry the goods inside.
10 people are reported missing in the rubble. How many people are there and what is the situation will be known only after the debris is removed. The mountain is quite unstable, so not many machines have been installed to clear the debris. Because of this there is a possibility of more debris falling.
