CHINA UPTO SOMETHING

The report surfacing about Dragon nation indulging in the construction of second bridge near Pangong Tso lake in Ladakh shows that the northern neighbour is up to something and whatever is being executed in the areas near Line of Actual Control is not a normal activity. If the reports are to be believed the new bridge is far bigger than the earlier one which China constructed recently in the area to facilitate the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in its operations against India. Though it has been said that India is also fortifying its position near LAC by building roads, bridges and tunnels but the big difference between both the countries is that India never indulges in any operation which is aggressive in nature but on the contrary, China is famous for its expansionist policy because it had a track record of such conflicts and contradictions with all its neighbouring countries so it becomes imperative for India to take things very seriously when the other party is China. As the new bridge will help the Chinese military to quickly mobilise its troops in the region, India needs to take swift action to counter this threat as losing an inch to Dragon nation is unacceptable especially when the command of the country is in the hands of bold, dynamic and foresighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has steered the country to new heights of progress and fame. The strategic experts are of the view that China has been focusing on strengthening its military infrastructure after Indian troops captured several strategic peaks on the southern bank of the Pangong Lake in August 2020 after the PLA showcased aggression in the area. The eastern Ladakh faceoff began on May 4-5 in 2020 and India has been insisting on the restoration of the status quo ante prior to the standoff. To resolve the issue, India and China have held 15 rounds of talks so far and the two sides had completed the disengagement process on the north and south banks of the Pangong Lake and in the Gogra area. The lingering stand-off in other areas is a complicated matter but India is firm to bring China to its terms as the Modi Government is certain about not going for any compromise on the logjam.
