One killed, 3 injured in grenade blast at new wine shop in Baramulla


A person died and three others sustained injuries, when an unidentified militant hurled a hand grenade inside a new wine shop at Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday evening.

The blast took place at Dewan Bagh area of Baramulla and the wine shop is located on the high security street, which houses the offices and residences of Deputy Inspector General of Police in north Kashmir and Senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla.

The residence of a senior Army officer is also located in the same area.

Police said a hand grenade exploded inside a new wine shop at Dewan Bagh Baramulla in north Kashmir this evening, leaving four persons injured.

The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, where one of them succumbed to his injuries, they further said.

All the four employees were from Jammu division, police added.
The Security forces have cordoned the area and launched a search operation to nab the attacker.

“Terrorists lobbed hand grenade inside a newly opened wine shop in Baramulla. O4 employees got injured. One among them succumbed to his injuries. All are from Jammu division. Area cordoned and search started to nab culprits,” a police tweet said.
