Jammu Kashmir Delimitation Commission Final Report: The Jammu and Kashmir Delimitation Commission released its final report prepared for the delimitation of the Union Territory after signing it. Before the release of the report, the members of the commission also held a meeting in New Delhi, after which the report was released. A day before the end of the term, the Delimitation Commission released its final report prepared on the delimitation of assembly constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir.
Let us tell you that before preparing the final report, the members of the Delimitation Commission visited Jammu and Kashmir and took suggestions from political, social, religious organizations besides common people. With the release of the report, now the way has been paved for the conduct of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. However, the Election Commission will announce the assembly elections and if official sources are to be believed, then by the end of this year elections can be announced here. During the delimitation commission’s action, different political parties had started preparations for the elections on their own.
After the completion of the delimitation process, there will be an increase in seven assembly seats, including six in the Jammu division and one in the Kashmir division. Not only this, the commission has also reserved nine seats for scheduled tribes and seven for scheduled castes in its report. Apart from this, Kashmiri Pandits and slave Kashmir refugees can also get representation in some assembly seats. After the presentation of the file report of the commission, the total seats in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will be 90. Of these, there will be 47 seats in Kashmir division, 43 seats in Jammu division.
