Maha: Gudi Padwa celebrated with gaiety after two years

Aurangabad, April 2 . ‘Gudi Padwa’ the very first day of Chaitra month of Marathi new year is being celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety across the Marathwada region here on Saturday. This day is also celebrated as ‘Hindu New Year’. It may noted that due to the corona pandemic during the past two years festival of Gudipadva was celebreated under the strict restrictions imposed by the government to tackle the pandemic. However, due to a significant decrease in the number of Covid in the state the government has lifted the restriction from this auspicious day onward. On this auspicious day, Gudi was installed, with the help of Kalash on the top of Bamboo stick wrapping with new clothes, Nim trees leaves and garlanded with sugar Gathi (sweet) and flowers in front of their respective houses after completing poojas. On this occasion, the Hindu New Year reception Committee being taken out a grand ‘Shobhayatra’ at 1500 hrs onwards from Historic Sansthan Ganesh temple after performing Arathi by the founder president and Aurangabad MP Chandrakanat Khaire and president of the committee Gopal Kulkarnin, in which all the activists from various Hindu outfits will participate by wearing traditional dresses with displaying awareness, religious live shows during the procession. The procession will take on route of Rajbazar, Gulmandi, Aurangpura and it will end near Khadkeswar temple later in the evening where Shanisadika Vibhashree Didi founder of Shanimandir addressed the procession . Similar processions will also taken out from different localities across the city . Reports from rest of the district stated that similar procession were being taken out in these districts as well.
