LAW SHOULD TAKE ITS OWN COURSE

LAW SHOULD TAKE ITS OWN COURSE

It is surprising that the law breakers– the encroachers of State Land are ruling the roost in many areas in the Jammu City as witnessed in recent anti-encroachment drive launched by Jammu Administration along National Highway near Bathindi area as those who were affected blocked Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Bhatindi crossing to oppose demarcation exercise of state land. The government this time should tell every soul in the region that the law will take its own course and whosoever is guilty of encroachment of state land shall not be spared. It is pertinent to mention that huge chunk of state land has been encroached by the people after getting favours from the delinquent politicians and unprincipled officials and the agencies responsible for action against this illegal activity though conduct anti-encroachment drives in the past but half-heartedly thus giving a reason to people to carry out such kind of illegal activity on mass scale. The situation has turned so grim that every nook and corner of the region has been encroached and despite the court orders and standing instructions of higher ups, the ground staff is finding it hard to vacate the government land and get it back from the clutches of land grabbers and encroachers. It is advisable for the people sitting at helm not to come under pressure of the encroachers this time as the time is ripe for clearing government land from the possession of encroachers. The government has got all means and legally also the government is on the right track therefore it must ensure that this time not an inch of government land should remain in the possession of illegal encroachers as getting back government land is a must for prevalence of law in the Union Territory. Whatever steps government has initiated till date are praiseworthy and there is no need to come under influence of any one because it is the duty of helmsmen to safeguard government land and retrieve it without fail. As far as encroachers are concerned, who are protesting at different places, the police should be deployed to tackle the situation as government cannot allow group of people to disrupt normal life seeking undue favours as this is nothing but blackmailing tactics and should be handled with strictness. As the law abiding citizens are in full support of the government over the issue of vacating state land, the government should resolve this problem once and for all by taking action against all the encroachers of J&K UT.
