Div Com conducts early morning tour of Narwal Mandi, Warehouse
Inspects implementation of Covid related guidlines in old city
JAMMU, MAY 27: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer today conducted a tour of Jammu city and inspected the implementation of Covid related advisories/orders at major markets.
He was accompanied by Officers of Horticulture and Marketing, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Jammu Smart City Limited besides Tehsildar concerned.
He started his tour from Fruit and Vegetable Market (Mandi) Narwal and reviewed the implementation of advisories to contain the spread of Covid-19. He took a round of Fruit and Vegetable Mandi Narwal and interacted with members of traders Association. He inquired about the availability and supply of the essentials to various parts of the Jammu division. It was informed that adequate stock of perishable goods is available and supply to various districts is regular.
The Div Com also inspected the development works being taken up in Narwal Mandi under Jammu Smart City, & Languishing Projects at an approx cost of Rs 19 crores. The concerned officers apprised him about the works completed so far and future work plan like argumentation of auction sheds, bio compost plant, works on Fruit Mandi Phase-II, Canteen, Park development, Toilet complex etc.
The Div Com directed JSCL and PWD to expedite the progress of work on each component of the project for overall development of the Mandi. Issues pertaining to alternate approach road and allotment of additional land were raised by the Mandi Association members before the Div Com.
Later, the Div Com visited Ware-House Market, Raghunath Market, Kanak Mandi and Residency Road to inspect the implementation of government guidelines. He observed that people were following all the covid related SOPs and the shops were operating according to the advisories.
He also interacted with the presidents, Members of the Market Associations and inquired about the issues they face in smooth supply of essentials to other parts of the division.
Meanwhile, the Div Com inspected the covid testing site at City Chowk. He instructed the concerned to ensure regular testing of workers and shopkeepers to contain the spread of Covid-19.
