Transport Commissioner inaugurates Fitness Mela at Jammu

JAMMU, FEB 15:
The Regional Transport Office, Jammu, today organized a fitness Mela which was formally inaugurated by Transport Commissioner, Pardeep Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion, Pardeep Kumar lauded the efforts of the department for holding such an innovative event which would be immensely beneficial for the transporters.
He appreciated Regional Transport Officer, Jammu, Dhananter Singh, and his team for working hard in further streamlining of functioning of the department.
He said that such type of Fitness Melas are being organised in all District Headquarters across Jammu and Kashmir to ensure that fitness of the vehicles is issued on the spot and the vehicle owner need not approach different agencies for the purpose. He reaffirmed that every step would be taken up to minimize the public footfall in the offices of the Registering Authority.
RTO Jammu, while speaking on the occasion informed that under this Mela, on spot Fitness Certificates are being issued to the vehicle owners and transporters who are being attended on logo of Come and Takeaway Fitness Certificate.
Additional Secretary, J&K Road Safety Council, R K Bhat, also spoke on the occasion and stressed for strict observance of Road Safety Rules.
Among others Additional Transport Commissioner, Joint Transport Commissioner, Additional SP Traffic, ART(HQ), Motor Vehicle Inspectors, officials of MVD and Traffic police, Presidents of various Transport Groups, Auto Unions, drivers and conductors of commercial vehicles were present on the occasion.
