MAYOR KICK STARTS VARIOUS DEVELOPMENT WORKS AT ROOP NAGAR AREA.

JAMMU, FEB 10: Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chander Mohan Gupta today on 10/02/2021 alongwith Sh Surinder Choudhary Councilor of ward no.29 conducted an extensive drive in Roop Nagar area and kick started various development works at Municipal Animal Birth Control centre situated at Roop Nagar. Dr. Susheel Sharma , Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr. Indu Bhushan Veterinary Surgeon , Sh Ashwani kumar Executive engineer, Sh Deep kumar Assistant Executive Engineer, Sh. Rakesh Kumar junior Engineer Division-III , other field staff of Engineering, Veterinary and Health section of JMC also accompanied the mayor during the drive. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that an amount of Rs 24 lacs has been sanctioned for overall upgradation of this center which includes construction of additional cattle shed for keeping & giving treatment to sick & injured stray animals in a better way, laying of durable tiles & construction of about eleven number of dog cannels for better Post-Operative cares of the sterilized Dogs, Construction of a water reservoir to fulfill the shortage of water in the ABC center . He further said that there is already shortage of accommodation/sheds for keeping the sick & injured animals which are being lifted by the veterinary section on routine basis and the JMC is try its best to provide one more such type of centre in the area of Gandhi Nagar or its nearby locality, where the stray dogs/animals lifted from pulpar & its surroundings localities can be properly kept for further treatment. Moreover there is shortage of veterinary surgeons in JMC and in order to streamline the system, the sterilization /treatment of stray dogs will be given to a well known NGO of India who have well experienced & professional staff alongwith Modern Equipment/vehicles and the general public will feel a sign of relief from stray animals/dogs who often seen roaming freely in public lanes & on the main roads inviting large number of misshapenings especially with the school going children & senior citizens. Later, mayor alongwith Sh. Surinder Choudhary councilor of ward no.29 and concerned engineering wing of division-II also conducted tour of Shakti Nagar & its adjoining localities & took stock of the various ongoing development works regarding construction/renovation of different lanes and drains of the ward & directed the concerned engineering & contractor to complete the said works within the stipulated time frame so that the locals & general public who are facing inconvenience due to damaged & under construction lanes since long may get rid of this and walk freely to  and fro to their destinations.

He also appeal to the general public to come forward & cooperate with JMC in all the development activities being undertaken in various wards of the city, donot use single use plastics/polythenes, plant more and more saplings in and around their localities where sufficient space is available, donot throw wastes/garbage on the public lanes/drains & always use dustbins which are installed by JMC in their nearby localities so that Jammu can be made, neat, clean and green city.
