72nd Republic Day-the day the Constitution of India came into effect, has been celebrated with great enthusiasm, patriotism, fervour and gaiety by the people of India across the world. The governments at the Centre and States, different political as well as social organisations, Panchayati Raj Institutions and educational institutions celebrated the day by organising different programmes including cultural items. The day was celebrated with grateful remembrance of all those noble souls who laid their lives to make India free from the shackles of British slavery. This day shall ever continue to inspire the generations to build an ATAMNIRBHAR BHARAT- Peaceful, progressive and shining with the Mahamantra of SABKA SAATH-SABKA VIKAS- SABKA VISHWAS. The sky was echoing with the slogans of JAI HIND-VANDE MATRAM-BHARAT MATA KI JAI and SARE JAHAN SE ACHHA HINDUSTAN HAMARA… Rich tributes were paid to the martyrs who laid their lives while defending the nation from the enemy. The brave and daring personnel of Police and Security forces who laid their lives while maintaining internal peace, safety and security of a common man across the country. The grateful nation also remembered Dr. B. R. Ambedkar for his valuable contributions, as the Chairperson of the Constitution Drafting Committee, for preparing the constitution draft. Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee has said “Let us together, commence a journey of peace, harmony and progress in South Asia” This has refilled the youth with great inspirations. Freedom has not come easy, it is because of our freedom fighters, so never take it for granted. A thousand salutes to this great nation of ours. The generations have to learn and practice the inspiring message of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam to the progressive and daring youth of India in which he says” courage to give, courage to think different, courage to invent, courage to discover the impossible, courage to travel into an unexplored path, courage to share knowledge, courage to remove pain, courage to reach the unreached, courage to combat problems, and to succeed are the qualities of youth.” In his address to the nation on the eve of 72nd Republic Day, while referring to the long pending reforms brought in India in the many areas particularly in labour and agriculture through various legislations, President of India Ram Nath Kovind has said that the ‘path to reforms at the initial stage may cause misapprehensions” but it is beyond doubt that the government remains singularly devoted to farmer’s welfare. The President referred to the three new farm laws brought by the government against which farmer unions have been holding a protest on Delhi’s borders since November 26’2020 with a demand to repeal of the three laws. They have not accepted the Government’s offer to put the three new farm laws on hold for about eighteen months. The President said equally salient but touching more lives is the comprehensive reform in education which was long overdue. The National Education Policy 2020, with its stress on tradition as well as technology, will lay the foundation of a new India which aspires to emerge as a knowledge hub on the international stage. He also said that adversity often plays the role of a great teacher and makes people stronger and more confident. With that confidence, India has taken great strides in several sectors.
