Delegation of J&K Private Schools called on Prasant K, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner 

A delegation of Executive members of central body of J & K Private Schools called on Prasant K, Regional Provident Fund (PF) Commissioner  I, Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India, Jammu. While speaking, General Secretary of the Association, Ajay Gupta briefed the Regional Provident Fund (PF) Commissioner “ I, that due to the closure of schools at the beginning of the academic session enrollment of most of the private schools has declined. There is severe financial deficit in all big
and small private schools due to improper cash flow. Now worrisome situation has erupted for the employers due to the repeated threats through Short Message Service (SMS) by JKEPFO of erstwhile J & K
state regarding the updating of missing P.F. contribution up to October 2019 with in 7days and simultaneously EPFO of Govt. of India regarding prosecution of the employers u/s 406/409 IPC in absence of belated remittance of employees contribution by the employers.

 

Members present in the meeting demanded empathy from the concerned departments till schools are closed because most of private schools owners who are solely dependent on this venture are hard up and facing a threat of economic collapse which may lead them to hunger and starvation. President of the Association, Kamal Gupta urge that considering the Pandemic situation in consideration pay both shares of Provident Fund (PF) contribution (@ 12% + @ 12%) of all defaulters’, till schools are closed or wait for Economic Package which government has decided to pay for the Revival of Private Educational Institutions to save this venture from extinction. The prominent who accompanied the deputation included Ajay Singh, Ram Parkash Sharma, Jatinder Heera,
Laddi Sharma etc.
