With 38,616 new cases, 474 deaths, India’s COVID-19 tally crosses 89L-mark; active cases below 4.5 lakh

India on Tuesday recorded 38,616 new cases of COVID-19, according to the Ministry of Health’s tally released on Wednesday, while 474 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours.

The latest numbers take the total case tally to 89,12,907 and 1,30,993 deaths until now.

There are 4,46,805 active COVID-19 cases, while 44,739 have recovered in the last 24 hours.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 12,74,80,186 samples have been tested till November 17, including the 9,37,279 samples tested on Tuesday.

India reported its first case on January 30 and has now emerged as the second-worst hit nation.
