Jammu Crime Branch arrests fraudster for duping unemployed youth

The sleuths of Crime Branch Jammu on Tuesday arrested a person who duped unemployed youths in the UT by promising them  of getting government jobs.
SSP Crime Branch, Shailendra Singh here said that the man identified as Mohammad Syed Shah of Budhsmi Nagar, Natipura, Srinagar has been arrested for duping several unemployed youth of Jammu of Rs 7 lakh on the pretext of arranging government jobs for them.

The accused was was constantly evading arrest by changing his locations, the SSP said.
He further said that a written complaint was lodged by Vikas Sharma of Sungal, Tehsil Akhnoor, Pardeep Kumar of Sandal, Tehsil Chowki-Choura and Sanjay of Mawa Brahmana, Akhnoor District Jammu with the Crime Branch, Jammu, alleging they had paid Rs 7 lakh cash (Rs 2.50 lakh, Rs. 2.50 lakh and Rs. 2.00 lakh respectively) to the accused, who claimed to be working on the post of Agriculture Assistant in J&K Agriculture Department, for arranging their appointments on a permanent basis in the Secretariat at Srinagar. They said that the accused neither got them the promised job, nor did he return their money.
Based on the complaint the Crime Branch team laid a trap to arrest him and with meticulous planning and coordination, traced the location of the accused and arrested him with the help of local Police.
The accused has been produced before a magistrate virtually and a further six days police remand has been obtained for further interrogation and investigation.
