Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor, Advocate Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation today on 27/06/2020 convened a meeting of newly created Engineering Wings of JMC and reviewed the overall functioning of different Divisions of this section. Sh Ghulam Rasool, XEN alongwith AEE’s of Division –I, Sh. Arun Gupta XEN alongwith AEE’s of Division –II, Sh. Ashwani Kumar XEN alongwith concerned AEE’s of Division-III, Sh. Sunil Kumar Sharma, XEN alongwith AEE’s of Division IV, Sh. Mohit Mahajan alongwith concerned AEE’s of Project Division of JMC attended the meeting . Mayor and Deputy mayor took status of the various development works which were started well before coronavirus lockdown, construction of ward offices in different wards, renovation / construction of Shamshan Ghats, Development& beautification of Green parks, establishment of open GYMs in the Parks, installation of 19 Number of unique types of fountains at Rotaries / Parks, Development of various water bodies for water conservation, installation of water coolers & other development activities for the welfare of general public. They were apprised by the engineering wing that the development activities on some of these projects are going to be completed which were only delayed sue to nationwide lockdown on account of COVID-19 pandemic and also non availability of sufficient no. of labourers / workers and due to creation of five number of Divisions in place of two & reshuffling of technical staff as well as joining of new staff and occupying proper accommodation.
Mayor and Deputy Mayor directed all the heads of the engineering divisions to expedite all the ongoing development works by deploying required number of workers upto the satisfaction of locals & with best quality material and told them that both Mayor and Deputy Mayor will personally monitor all the ongoing developments works in the field & try to sort out any difficulties if arises in the way of smooth completion of all the mentioned developments works which are in the interest of general public and making Jammu really a smart city on the pattern of other Municipal Corporations of various Cities / U.T’s of India and also appeal to the Citizens of Jammu to come forward and co-operate with JMC in various development activities under taken by the department.
Later Mayor also chaired a meeting of Enforcement Wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation in presence of Deputy Mayor which was attended by Chief Enforcement Officer, Enforcement Officer, Assistant Enforcement Officers as well as all the Enforcement Inspectors and had detailed interactions with them regarding the overall functioning of the concerned section and also received feedback from them which they are facing during the anti encroachment drives / removing the illegal constructions in the city. Mayor assured them that all possible assistance regarding this will be provided to them and directed them to perform their duties with full dedication, hard work, transparency & with honesty and furnish detail reports of illegal / legal building constructions activity of commercial / residential in their respective wards to the their concerned officers as well as in the office Mayor & Deputy Mayor on routine basis and also get the complete data of construction activities be computerized and informed that Jammu Municipal Corporation is going to create a new software for updating all the Building permission cases within the limits of Jammu Municipal Corporation and also digitalization the functioning of Jammu Municipal Corporation to make more transparency & effectiveness of the each wing of the department and the asked them that the working of the Enforcement Section will be reviewed after every fort night.
