Police arrested four drug peddlers along with around 400 grams heroin and 3.20 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gangyal Police Station laid a naka near Kunjwani Bye Pass and intercepted a truck bearing Registration Number PB11CL-7029.
During checking, police team recovered 400 grams heroin from the possession of the driver and his associate and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Hardeep Singh alias Deepa, son of Gurian Tehsil Ploor District Jalandhar Punjab and Darbara Ram, son of Meet Ram of Phagwara District Kapurthala Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 82/2020 under Section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and assisted by PSI Birbhan Singh Charak and ASI Sat Pal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Ram Singh, SP South Deepak Digra and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
Meanwhile, a team from Miran Sahib Police Station laid a naka near Indira Nagar and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 3.200 kilograms poppy straw from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Deep Kumar, son of Himat Raj of Indira Nagar Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 99/2020 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and Investigation started.
The whole operation was led by SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Harmohinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan, SP Headquarters Jammu Adil Hamid and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
However, a team from Bagh-e-Bahu Police Station led by Inspector Sunil Sharma under the supervision of SDPO East Bikram Kumar, SP South Deepak Digra under the supervision of SSP Jammu Shridhar laid a naka near Qasim Nagar and intercepted a motorcycle.
During checking, police team recovered 1.5 grams heroin from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Arun Mehra, son of Mohan Lal Mehra, a resident of Qasim Nagar, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 52/2020 under relevant sections has been registered at Bagh-e-Bahu Police Station and investigation initiated.
