MAYOR TOURS BHOUR, CHATHA AREAS OF WARD NO.73

 

Continuing his commitment to provide better basic as well development amenities to the residents of Jammu, Sh Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith Sh Youdhvir Singh Hon’ble Councilor of ward no.73, Madam Avny lavasa Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation conducted an extensive tour of the said ward in the areas of Karan Bagh to Bhour camp & Chatha road and took stock of the difficulties being faced by the inhabitants residing in the locality due to non completion of Nallah by the Rural Development Department flowing on karan Bagh to chatha area. Sh Sunil Kumar Sharma, Executive Engineer, Sh Ashok Kumar Sharma, Asstt. Executive Engineer, S Manjot Singh Junior Engineer of Division IV of Jammu Municipal Corporation and prominent inhabitants of the locality were also present during the tour. Hon’ble councilor on behalf of residents told the Hon’ble Mayor and Commissioner, JMC that construction work of about 50 meters of nallah has been left incompleted by the Rural Department as the said nallah has to be connected with the landoi choi to give relief to the residents living there since years together and due to non execution of its outfall, dirty water creates havoac in the locality in every rainy season causes lot of damage to the household properties as well as human lives residing in the low lying areas as water enters in the mohalla even upto six to seven ft height and about 500 to 700 families are living here with lot of fear to the lives of their children and b  themselves. Mayor took stock of area thoroughly, listened to the genuine problems of the residents patiently and told the gathering that UEED has prepared an estimates of Rs 17.36 lacs to complete the construction work of left over portion of the nallah and asked  the commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation to accord necessary administrative approval on priority and also directed the Engineers of concerned Division to execute the remaining construction work of nallah well before coming rainy season in order to save the locality from getting any more damage. He also appeal to the general public to come forward and cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation in various development activities, undertaken the department in Jammu city donot throw garbage, filth, polythene etc in the public lane, drains and nallahs which blocks the smooth flow of water, donot use single use plastics, polythenes in their routine life, plant more and more saplings in and around their locality as well on the banks of nallahs to make the area neat, clean and green
