Congress questions lapses to provide security to Ajay Bharti leader from minority community and an elected representative in the vulnerable area of Kashmir

strongly Condemning the killing of its leader Ajay Bharti, senior leaders of JKPCC today  questioned the failure of the govt to ensure him adequate security being an elected representative and leader of minority community residing in one of the most vulnerable area in Kashmir.
   After the cremation of the slain leader in the morning at Shakti Nagar Jammu, in which senior party leaders including PCC chief G A Mir attended the same, an emergency meeting was convened at party Hq Jammu to pay condolences to  the slain leader in which strong resentment was shown over the dastardly act of killing of innocent citizen but questioned the government for its failure to provide adequate protection to him and ensure his security in the most vulnerable area despite minority  community leader who participated in the political process against all odds of situation. Two minutes silence was observed in the memory of the leader and to pray for peace to the departed soul and to give strength to the family members and relatives.
  The meeting was attended by Former minister and vice president Shri Raman Bhalla, former minister and general Secretary PCC Incharge District Congress President Jammu urban,Yogesh Sawhney, chief Spokesperson of the party Shri Ravinder Sharma, General secretary PCC Th Manmohan Singh, PCC Secretaries Neeraj Gupta, Sanjeev Sharma Dr R K Khajuria and all JMC Councillors including Ch.  Dwarka,  Th Kamal Singh , Rajinder singh  interject Kour, Bhanu Mahajan, Gourav chopra, Mohiuddin alias Khemu, Ritu Choudhary,  sobat Ali Choudhary, Rachpal, pritam Singh besides others.
The meeting expressed grave concern over the dastardly killing of the party leader belonging to the minority community who participated in the political process and won the election from the area falling in the assembly segment Dooru, earlier represented by PCC chief G A Mir. The slain leader Ajay Bharti was an active leader and close associate of PCC chief, who was also presey in the native village in Anantnag, when the unfortunate incident took place and he traveled all along from Anantnag late night to attend the cremation of the martyr in Jammu. .
      The party has impressed upon the government to identify the culprits and give them the required punishment for the dastardly act. The government should fix responsibility for the failure to provide him security despite showing apprehension of threat to his life. They party charged that he was denied protection for being leader of opposition Congress otherwise he would have not got killed.
     Shri Raman Bhalla said that it should been otherwise known to the govt and the security agencies that Shri Ajay Bharti was more vulnerable to the designs of the terrorist and anti national elements for the reason that he not only participated in the political process but won it. Secondly he was from the minority Kashmiri pandit community and also that he was associated with opposition Congress. Unfortunately he was not provided security despite requests which is very serious thing and independent inquiry should be held to fix the responsibilities.
 The BJP govt  makes statements every now and then and claim safe return of Kashmiri migrants but the one who participated in the political process and was residing there could not be protected which is failure of the government for which they are answerable and govt should come out clear in this regard.
  The chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that the the govt is discriminating in the matter of security also and those belonging to the ruling party and close to people in the corridors of the people in power are preferred over the more or equally vulnerable are deprived. He said that the vulnerable sections of mainstream leadership especially representatives of PRIs should be given adequate security in sensitive areas immediately.
  Shri Yogesh Sawhney who presided over the meeting said that the party would  to pay tributes to the slain leader tomorrow. He said party seeks  response of the govt to identify the lapses in the matter of  security to him and other such discriminatory policies of the present dispensation in the matter of security and its failures to ensure the safety and security of patriotic forces.
