MAYOR INSPECTED THE DISILTING WORKS OF NALLAH AT SHAKTI NAGAR AREA

Continuing the drive to provide better basic amenities to the residents of Jammu city and taking a step ahead in its endeavour to bring the governance at the door steps of the masses, Sh Chander Mohan Gupta, mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation conducted an extensive tour in the areas of shakti nagar & its adjoining areas of ward no.29 alongwith Sh Surinder Choudhary Councilor of said ward, Sh Sudhir Bali, Asstt. Commissioner (Rev)/Incharge Transport Officer, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Sh Atul Bakshi and other prominent inhabitants of Shakti Nagar area. Mayor took stock of the ongoing disilting work of nallah flowing through lane no. 10 and lane no. 11 thoroughly and told that in every rainy season dirty water often overflows and even enters into the houses of the residents living there & causes lot of damages to the household items and in order to prevent to overflow the water, the transport wing has already started the thorough cleaning and disilting of shakti nagar nallahs as well as other nallahs of the Jammu city well in advance by deploying labourers and required machinery so that Silt, garbage etc extracted from nallahs be lifted accordingly and donot create any type of unhygienic condition in the localities. He directed the concerned officers/officials of transport section of JMC to deploy the labourers & vehicles in the nallahas by adopting proper social distancing & guidelines of Distt. Administration and also appeal to the general public to cooperate with JMC in maintaining proper sanitation and other development activities which are being undertaken by the deptt, donot throw garbage , filth polythene etc in the public drains/nallahas, avoid using of single used plastics,  etc in their routine life, plant more and more saplings in their localities as well as on both sides of nallhas to make the environment eco friendly so that Jammu can be made neat, clean and green city
