Continuing the drive to provide better development & civic amenities to the people of Jammu city Sh Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu municipal Corporation alongwith Sh Satpal karlupia Councilor of ward no.32, Sh Surinder Sharma Councilor of ward no.38 today on 29/05/2020 conducted an extensive tour of Municipal cattle pond at Nagrota & reviewed the ongoing various development activities at the said site. Sh Mohit Mahajan, Executive Engineer (project division) JMC alongwith his team, Dr. Susheel Sharma, Municipal Veterinary Officer & concerned contractors were also present at the site. Mayor went round the whole complex alongwith the team & took stock of the ongoing construction works. Mayor was apprised by the project division that the work of construction of boundary wall at the site is almost going to be completed. Mayor told that an amount of Rs 5 crore has been embarked at the 1st instance from 14th finance commission award for this prestigious project which is spread over about 97 kanals of natural land surrounding by hillocks and having eco-friendly atmosphere. It will become a unique & modern Goshalla with separate sheds for Bull, cows as well as calves alongwith dispensary for treatment of sick animals. Mayor further told that being the natural land a modern view point alongwith water bodies and solar plant will also be made available at this site and every efforts be taken to make it a famous tourist spot also as large number of pilgrimages of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi ji Shrine passes through this route on daily basis. Moreover after the completion of this project, people will also get fresh milk from this modern Goshalla when sunrises and when sunsets on routine basis. Mayor further told that there is also a provision of temple of Radha krishan near the main entrance gate of this cattle pond alongwith shopping complex for the convenience of general public. He directed the project division JMC and concerned contractors to execute the work on this site within the stipulated time period by adopting proper social distancing and also appeal to the general public to cooperate with JMC in various development activities , also follows the guidelines of Distt Administration issued time to time regarding novel corona virus to break the chain of COVID-19 Pandemic effectively
