Rajput Sabha presents photo of Maharaja Hari Singh to Chairman J&K Bank

As a tribute to the contribution of Maharaja Hari Singh for the formation of J&K Bank, Thakur Pavitar Singh, President, Shree Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, J&K today presented a life size photo of the Dogra King to Sh. RK Chhibber, Chairman, J&K Bank at the Jammu & Kashmir Bank Zonal Head quarters, Jammu for installation in his offices. Highlighting the socialist approach of Maharaja, Pavitar Singh said that our state was blessed to have the leadership of Hari Singh as he brought many social changes during his regime. “Maharaja was a visionary and his religion was justice to all which he practiced during his rule. He made primary education compulsory in the state, introduced laws prohibiting child marriage, and opened places of worship to the low castes. Installation of the photo of Maharaja is small tribute to him after 80 years of the establishment of Bank”, said Pavitar Singh.

Speaking on the occasion, Abhijeet Singh Jasrotia, Chief Convenor & Gen. Sec of Rajput Sabha said that the photo of Maharaja Hari Singh in the J&K Bank offices shall remind us of the great Dogra ruler who always worked for uplifting his citizens. “Formation of Jammu & Kashmir Bank by Maharaja on 1st October 1938 was a visionary approach to enable and uplift the society. We are offering our respect by installing the picture of Maharaja Hari Singh in the J&K Bank headquarters at Rail Head Complex and requested to install the same photograph at all J&K Bank offices. This is the least that we can do to revive the great history of the Dogra ruler”, Said Abhijeet Singh Jasrotia.

Mr. Chibber thanked President of the Rajput Sabha for presenting the Photo of Maharaja and reminding the role of Hari Singh in the formation of J&K Bank with the help of businessmen and other prominent citizens of erstwhile J&K state during his regime.

Speaking on the occasion, Ashish Katoch, Organisisng Secretary said that the Dogra rulers extended the boundaries of Jammu & Kashmir to far off territories by making supreme sacrifices. Ashish Katoch said that Maharaja was a great visionary ruler who was pioneer in starting many new things of that era and banking system was one of those initiatives.
