“Police has been providing security to hospital, quarantine centers, red zones and orange zone and imposing restrictions in these areas. I would like to thank and appreciate all the teams in north, south and central Kashmir,” the DGP told reporters on Thursday after reviewing the security scenario in central Kashmir district of Budgam.
“I would like to compliment all the offices and jawans for their exemplary performance to curtail the spread of COVID-19,” he added.
The DGP said he would also like to support the general public for their support in implementing lockdown restrictions. “The holy month of Ramzan is underway and I would specially like to thanks religious leaders and priests, who have been asking people to pray in their homes,” he said.
He said Ramzan is a month of prayers and people can offer prayers in their respective homes in view of restrictions on congregations in mosques and shrines. “People were able to understand that it is not mandatory to offer players in mosques in the current situation only after Muslims clerics intervened,” he said.
“I don’t think that God would like people to harm others by participating in congregations,” he added.
