Adv. Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor JMC distributed free masks to the needy people of BPL families in ward no. 01. The masks are reusable cloth masks and are being provided by JMC as a preventive measure against the COVID-19.
The mask are free for BPL families and members of APL families can acquire the same mask at a maximum rate of Rs. 10 per mask. This initiative of the Deputy Mayor and Jammu Municipal Corporation is taken so as to prevent the shopkeepers from exploiting the locals at the present hour of crises as many complaints have been registered where the Shopkeepers are selling masks at a higher price and to provide the locals with masks as at some places the masks are unavailable.
Purnima Sharma, said that we all should help our fellow beings by aiding the needy or even ensuring of essential commodities to everybody. She said that the corona Pandemic has crippled global resource supply and a major chunk of population is feeling restlessness to acquire the basic amenities at the time.
Deputy Mayor, said that it is duty of everyone of us to contribute in any possible way, but at the same time, she insisted that the biggest contribution will be not to venture out of our homes unnecessarily. She simultaneously appealed to all for strictly adhering to the guidelines issued by the enforcement agencies to check the spread of Covid 19 (corona virus) infection.
The distribution was done in the presence of Sh. Gulshan, Sh. Rajneesh (Sanitary Supervisors) along with their team of Health Officials, Smt. ShubhLata Sharma(State Executive Member), Sh. Suresh Bharti (Mandal Secretary East), Sh. Ved Prakash Padha (Mandal Office Secretary), Sh. Gopal Sanotra (Mandal Office Secretary), Smt. Sunita Wazir(Mahila Morcha Mandal General Secretary), Sh. Varinder Verma Ji, Sh. Kuldeep Mehta, Sh. Gopal Ji, Smt. Anuradha Ji, Sh. Deepak Kumar, Team of Booth Presidents, Team of Ward Presidents and and other prominent members of the ward were also present.
