Private schools demanded financial assistance from govt.

In a press release issued by the General Secretary of JKPSA ,Ajay Gupta said that in response to the
queries by Anuradha Gupta (KAS) Director School Education Jammu regarding online classes for the
students studying in the private schools which is generated by the Education Department to cope up
the academic loss of the students in lockdown, a memorandum was presented here today.
In the memorandum it has been revealed by the designated members that majority of the Private schools
are toeing the line and providing education online through written assignments, video lectures etc. as
per the desire of the department. The study work assigned to the students is going on smoothly and the
response of students and parents is very encouraging and positive. Blocking cash flows of schools at
this stage has made all schools hapless and a great financial crunch has dawned on the low budget
private schools.
To overcome all problems faced by the most of low budget private schools President of the association,
Kamal Gupta demanded financial assistance from the government so that school authorities can pay salary
to their teaching and non teaching staff or he appealed to the government to pass an order based on the
following suggestions that schools will not charge any transport fee for the lockdown period, tuition
fee will be charged on monthly basis till normalcy restored, late fee will not be charged from the
students, annual fee will be charged on pro rata basis, there will be no increase in fee for the
academic session 2020-202. He also demanded permission to open school office with 50% teachers/staff
members on rotational basis after the lockdown so that teachers have access to the study material for online.
