One SPO has been martyred and another suffered grievous injuries when they were attacked while on patrolling duty at upper area of Tander falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Dachhan in the mountainous district of Kishtwar this afternoon.
Reports revealed that today SPO’s namely Pashid Iqbal No 1328/SPO and Vishal Singh No 1342/ SPO ,both posted SOG Police Post Tander, Dachhan, Kishtwar had gone to the upper area of Tander for patrolling. They were attacked at that place by 1. Basharat Hussain S/O Gh. Qadir Gainoo and 2. Ashiq Hussain S/O Bashir Ahmed both residents of village Tander, Dachhan resulting in the martyrdom of SPO Pashid Iqbal and serious injury to SPO Vishal Singh. Both the attackers fled from spot.One of the attackers was Ashiq Hussain S/O Bashrat Ahmed R/O village Tander Dachhan and was involved in case FIR No 06/2018 U/S 363,376 RPC of P/S Dachhan. He went out on bail 20 days back.
Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Shri Mukesh Singh-IPS along with DIG Doda Shri Abdul Jabbar-IPS have reached Kishtwar. Operation has been launched in Tander area by the SOG and the Army to nab the attackers.
